“I don’t do drugs, I AM drugs” ~ Salvador Dali

I decided to break the routine and take long awaited hike back up to woods quarry just outside of Boulder.. The last time I visited this place was back in December when I built my first Orbs… So I revisited and chose to try my hand at another Orb structure.. For the most part they look very similar to one another, however, the process is always unique.. always SLOW, and contemplative as each rock is placed with one hand, while stabilizing the the rest with the other hand…  The process always involves slow steady breathing… and quite a few near collapses… contemplation and patience is key to successfully building one of these precarious masses…  I worked for a few hours on the structure before reaching this point… nasty sunburn and all… Oops. :/ heh   but the result turned out awesome!..

As I worked, several visitors hiked to and from the site, many of which recognized me from my previous constructions in December… a few even stopped to watch the process for awhile… I LOVE the effect these Orbs have on people… Many accuse me of using photoshop when they see the photos… but i don’t give a fuck.. their doubt actually makes me giggle a bit because I succeeded in challenging their notions of possibility… which is a big reason I enjoy doing this in the first place… :)   If a person does not witness the process first hand, the process is often mysterious… people just can’t figure out how I do it.. :D I like that :)  Often when I see really good art, I am baffled as to what process or methods are used to reach the final product… So I have recently begun calling this Orb the mind bender for the way it astounded so many people…. during the process AND after while viewing the photos.. :D

What made you start to think in this capacity? How do you see this happening? Do you see in your mind a finished product before you have begun to piece together rocks? Just curious.
