INSTALLATIONS, PERFORMANCE

Performance/Balance Installations engage visitors and inspire a wide range of contemplation and conversation. Seeing rocks balanced in seemingly impossible ways will have people questioning their own conceptions of possibility. Often it will be something they have rarely, if ever, seen before. A step above the installation element is the performance element. Being able to see (and unknowingly be part of) the creative process seems to be the most interesting, for spectators and myself. since balances are often inspired in some way by the environment, gardens begin to form in relation to the surrounding elements like audience, sounds, atmosphere, etc.

I am available to perform stone balance at a wide variety of events including weddings, art shows, public exhibitions, reunions, private parties, festivals, etc.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops are a great way to discover balance art AND practice active meditation. Not only do I love this art with a passion, but I can also guide a well rounded approach to the art form that touches on history, functions, other balancers, my own experience, and several techniques for balancing with design in mind. Not to mention the element of photographing or not, sharing or not, which ties into function…. I encourage mindfulness, curiosity, and safety.    Sessions can include anyone from beginner to advanced balancers.

Workshops are an excellent addition to any festival or recreation center as it can be a family exercise and/or for personal bliss..
